Choosing the right size

We are sure that you already know how important it is to buy shoes that fit your feet. But nowadays, when the online shopping network has expanded rapidly, sometimes it is much more accessible to anyone to buy various products online, including shoes. Unlike classic shopping, which gives you the opportunity to try on a pair of shoes to discover if they fit you, in the online environment it is essential to know exactly what size you wear.

This way, you will avoid various inconveniences, which include both the risk of ordering shoes that are not the right size, as well as the inconvenience caused by unsuitable footwear. A shoe needs to be the size of your feet, both for reasons related to your comfort and for medical reasons, as is easy to understand.

We will therefore provide you with a short guide to help you choose the right shoe size. You can use this guide for your future purchases both online and in traditional shoe stores.

How to measure your foot size correctly

  • Prepare a sheet of paper. It is advisable to have an A4 sheet of paper handy, but if you don't have one available, any sheet of paper will do, as long as it is larger than the sole of your foot. Place the sheet on the floor, on a flat surface.

  • Place your foot on the paper. It is recommended to place your foot according to how you will wear the shoes you want to purchase – barefoot or with the socks or stockings you will use most often with the desired footwear. It is also preferable to do this while sitting down, not in a standing position.

  • Draw the outline of your foot on paper. Use a pencil or pen, preferably, to draw the exact outline of your foot on paper.

  • Frame the outline of the foot between the lines drawn with a ruler. Using the ruler, draw a straight line along both sides of the foot, as well as above the toes and heel.

  • Measure the length and width of your foot. Using a ruler, measure the inches between two parallel lines on either side of your foot—both the lines at the edges and the lines at the toes and heels. Write down these numbers.

Recommendations to follow

Along with the steps that are presented previously, it is important to know that there are also some recommendations to follow, to ensure that you choose the right shoe size. First of all, it is important that when you take the measurements that you take following the previously mentioned steps, you take into account the larger size. Thus, for the length you will choose the measurement from the big toe to the furthest point of the heel. As for the width, you will choose the distance between the furthest points of the width of your foot.

A second recommendation is to keep in mind that, in general, feet may vary slightly in size. In this regard, we recommend that you measure both feet, and if the measurements differ, even slightly, consider the larger measurement to determine the shoe size that suits you.

Thirdly, but also importantly, if your foot is between two sizes, it is recommended to choose the larger size, to avoid the risk of the shoes creating discomfort while wearing them.

Size guide

Along with the recommendations in this guide, it is also essential to consider the measurements used for the footwear you wish to purchase. Therefore, before ordering a pair of shoes, it is important to check the measurement system that is used for the desired product.
